Audrey Hepburn & Vintage fashion Trends

“My look is attainable. Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses, and the little sleeveless dresses.” – Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn captivated audiences with her classic beauty, glamour, slender figure, sense of style, and her femininity.

Audrey Hepburn is a style icon, but why? She defied trends and wore what she felt good in. Nina Garcia’s new book says it all. “You just have to be yourself.” Due to 50’s standards she defied the trends and was the opposite of her contemporaries such as Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. She was too tall and too skinny in addition to this.

But… do you really know the impact they had on the world? Specifically, the fashion world. Years later, she continues to have a significant influence on the world. Her breakfast at Tiffany’s dress that we all know and love has been auctioned for Eight hundred and seven thousand dollars. YES, $807,000.

The big sunglasses, the little black dress, the flats, the pearls. All of these things are essentials to a girl’s wardrobe. Yes, Coco Chanel brought pearls into the fashion world, and they continue to be a classic piece of jewelry but not because of Chanel, but because Audrey mainstreamed them years later.

[Just for a little randomness, I read that “Holmes is the new Audrey Hepburn” Please! Holmes is hideous is what I think, and she looks like a 2 year old and she dresses horrible. Oh, and she looks like her child’s sister not her mother. Sorry. If anyone its kierra knightley].

I would probably disagree about Kierra Knightly. Although she is lithe like Hepburn, she doesn’t have the same timeless quality. I personally prefer Natalie Portman. Like Knightly she has the same delicate features, but from interviews she has both the class and sass that Hepburn had. Also her want/need of privacy has the same Hepburn feel.

i can’t say that i agree with either one of you.I think that no one is like her. she was a one of a kind person who made looking fabulous a necessity not just for occasions. She couldn’t be compared to anyone from now because now everyone has surgery or something done to their faces. were as she was a natural beauty.
