Audrey Hepburn Purse

I have noticed a lot of people asking about Audrey Hepburn Purse / Purses. Unfortunately, I didn’t understand what they meant. Whether they were talking about the purses with her picture printed on them, or a legit Audrey Hepburn style purse.

Now, If you have any respect for Audrey Hepburn and her style, do not buy the purses with her printed on it. You didn’t see her carrying a portrait printed purse. First of all, that’s tacky, tasteless, cheap, and a few additional words I would rather not mention. These are all the opposite of a genuine Audrey Hepburn Purse.

There aren’t too many pictures with Audrey Hepburn sporting purses or handbags in real life. However, being someone who has been evaluating her style and studying her every fashion choice, I believe that there is a certain pattern to follow.

One of Audrey Hepburn’s favorites was the vintage Louis Vuitton Speedy 25. I absolutely adore this bag, as with most Louis Vuitton bags. If you would like to purchase the speedy 25, you’ll find it in vintage boutiques but doubtfully through Louis Vuitton. Make sure you follow all LV guidelines so as to not get ripped-off. My first tip is: Make sure the Leather is darker treated leather as on all LV vintage bags and purses. Also, the vintage purses have NO date code. Date codes were added to Louis Vuitton purses later on.  There should be a labeling that notifies that the bag was made in the USA under a special license, “The French Company” to be exact;  this can be found sewn into one of the seams [Don’t look for anything fancy etched into leather, this will be a regular tag.] The Zippers and Hardware are also different on the vintage bags; the zipper pulls are éclair and talon with no Logo engraved, and the hardware isn’t gold brass like today’s, it’s plated nickel in most vintage pieces. You could also buy a new speedy 25 through Louis Vuitton or through eluxury.  New Speedy 25 can be purchased in other styles [other than the classic monogram]

Another bag Audrey was spotted carrying around was Vintage Chanel Black Tote [Below]. I own one of these myself and I absolutely LOVE this Audrey Hepburn Purse. I think most Chanel Classic Handbags are the perfect definition of an Audrey Hepburn Purse. Its classy and goes with almost any outfit, and can be used as a shoulder bag or a handbag. I own a vintage one; however, you can buy a new one through Chanel. In the picture she is holding the backside to the camera but this is the Classic flap with NO quilting. These are a little harder to find but I like the ones with the quilting just as much.

Something that has pretty recently been made a “big deal” about in the press was Victoria Beckham in LAX dressed very Audrey Hepburn, with a very Audrey Hepburn Purse. I think she looked absolutely stunning and I think this just gives a supporting boost to my hypothesis that classic Chanel Bags are the ultimate Audrey Hepburn Purse.

Audrey was also seen several times carrying raffia totes purses and handbags. I am not sure these which designers these purses were designed by. However I took the time to collect a few raffia designer bags, which I think are very Audrey.

Another Audrey Hepburn beloved purse, well which is not so much a purse, are briefcase style bags. Elegant, classy, and gorgeous, how could she not love them?  These Are really hard to find nowadays. I have [again] a Chanel Black Quilted Classic Lambskin Leather Briefcase, and a Hermes Kelly Depeches PM Briefcase.  Both Extremely classy and a big recommendation from me – a savior for every working woman.  It is really hard to find a good looking briefcase especially the nice vintage ones, and for a good price. So I would definitely recommend to save up and invest.

Urban Outfitters have nice briefcases that are vintage-inspired and some of them are actually really cute.

Audrey Hepburn purses are definitely a pretty large selection, probably like every woman out there. However, Audrey Hepburn was spotted with clutches and mini handbags a whole lot. One I have that I think is very Audrey is the Vintage 1970’s Gucci White Leather Shoulder Bag Purse, and I’m trying to get it in black!

I think One of the Cutest small modern purses which is completely Audrey Hepburn is the Lady Dior Purse. If you watch gossip girl youve seen it more than once [Shown Below] it’s nto as big as it looks!

Definitely one of my old time favorites, I remember my mother used to carry them around, but not the most comfortable of Audrey Hepburn’ s purse choices are the Box purses. I think they are absolutely stunning. I will try to find pictures of Audrey with these I know I have them around here somewhere! One of my favorite Audrey Hepburn Purse that is Box style is the Vintage Morgan Taylor Quilted Black Leather Box Handbag Purse with a Removable Shoulder Strap, Box purses that are designed with an optional shoulder strap are a lot more comfortable, so keep that in mind! Another one I like is the Vintage 1990’s Black Metal Mesh Box Purse shown below, it’s a ix between a brief and a box purse.
